The follow-up you keep forgetting to send

You sent the proposal on Tuesday. You told yourself you'd follow up on Friday. It's now the following Wednesday. The client signed with someone else on Monday.

This happens constantly. Not because freelancers are unprofessional, but because follow-ups don't feel like real work. There's no deliverable, no invoice, no deadline. Just a vague "I should probably email them."

The cost of not following up

Studies consistently show that the majority of sales happen after the fifth contact. Most people give up after one. A single follow-up email — sent at the right time — can double your conversion rate. But you have to actually send it.

Make it automatic

When you send a proposal, immediately set a reminder in again: "FOLLOW UP SMITH PROJECT" in 3 days. You'll get a text on Friday. Reply DONE when you've sent the follow-up. Or SNOOZE if you want to wait until Monday.

You can even text ADD to your again number to create the reminder without leaving your SMS thread. "ADD follow up smith project once friday 9am" — done.
